World Breastfeeding Week educates new moms
Clinica Sierra Vista V I C Program coordinator Enid Phillips says breastfeeding provides complete nutrition for about six months and immunities to illnesses. The theme this year is its your right. Local groups aim to educate about the right to breast feed and protection from interference. California laws support public breastfeeding and employer accommodations AB 155. Hospitals must offer lactation consultants. Call for information to Clinica Sierra Vista or Kern County Breastfeeding Coalition.
