Shafter man killed in police narcotics search gunfight
Everett Haskins Jr., 45, died after gunfire exchanged with two Shafter Police Officers during a regular street level narcotics search warrant at 8:25 p.m. A 32-year-old resident, Lisa McCaslin, was wounded and hospitalized in good condition, later booked on multiple drug related charges. The incident prompted an immediate DA review and a continuing narcotics investigation, with a large seizure of marijuana, methamphetamine, sale documents, and cash at the residence across from Richland Primary School.
