Richland Pool Meet Draws County Talent
The Richland Swim Club collected 17 trophies at the county meet held in the new Shafter aquatic center. Nine districts competed including Northern, Bear Mountain, Lakeside, Taft and Bakersfield with many centers such as Minter Village and North of the River. Events awarded cups for first place and ribbons for runners up, with two events per contestant and A to D classes for ages 10 to 16. The day closed shortly after midnight after a long schedule despite an anticipated 3 p.m. finish.
