Chief trains volunteers on emergency management in Shafter

Residents of Shafter volunteered months ago to assist city staff in emergencies. On July 18 2001 they met with Police Chief John Zrofsky to learn Emergency Operations Center functions and how to request and distribute sheltering materials and heavy equipment. A train derailment drill with a hazardous substance was conducted to reinforce lessons.
