Richland Citizens of the Month Named for March
Greg Vasquez and Rex Friesen are the Richland School March citizens of the month. Greg, in Mrs. Fraley’s 8th grade class, enjoys Marine Science and hopes to attend USC. Rex, in Miss Fee’s 7th grade class, loves animals and aims to be a zoologist. They spent Easter visiting relatives and share hobbies like drawing and making models.

Winthrop Paroo Leads Strong Wasco Cast In Shafter Show
Cooling Off as Winthrop Paroo gave a fine performance in Gary Indi a singing. The 60 voice cast delivered an excellent opening on River City with Carl Wells Ed Janzen Arley Feil Verl Nash Phil Bergen Raden Fortenberry and Robin Findley in 1900s costumes. Ruth Snively designed set and props while Pat Neuman handled costumes. Jim Pressley directed the orchestra. Wasco contributors Schieber Grizzel and L A Bob Snively defined the production, his fourth hit after Wildcat Anything Goes and Bye Bye Birdie.

Robert Gaeta, 24, of Burbank, allegedly entered Almar's Tavern at 5 p.m. and fired a single shot at Terrell Chatman after an argument. Deputies seized Gaeta who was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and released on bail.
