First Sgt. Baltazar M. Lopez, Shafter Korean War hero now with the 412th engineer battalion at Camp Desert Rock Nev, is named grand marshal of the sixt h annual Shafter Potato and Cotton Festival parade on May 16. Lopez earned the Silver Star for valor in Korea and recently served at the atomic bomb testing site near Las Vegas directing observer trench construction. He is married with five children and is a Richland School graduate.
