Valley Bible Easter Events Unite City for Sacred Week
Valley Bible hosted an Easter Week of activities for local children including an egg hunt story time and crafts on April 4. Volunteers organized grade groups, flower pot crafts, and a bounce house. A Passover Meal followed on April 5 at Valley Bible with Pastor Polley explaining symbols. Good Friday service at New Hope Church remembered Jesus suffering. A Son Rise Service at Manuel Park marked the resurrection. The city celebrated with unity and renewal as Kern High begins.

Firefighters rescue puppy from iron pipe in Wasco
At 4:30 p.m. last Sunday a man delivered a 500 pound cast iron pipe containing two six week old puppies to Wasco Fire Station. The head of one puppy was stuck in a 2 inch opening. After failed oil attempts, firefighters used tools including the jaws of life and air chisel in a three hour operation to free the animal. The puppy recovered and firefighters were praised as heroes.
