Legislation to aid volunteer firefighters in California
A federal press conference announced a major package by Senator William Campbell to aid rural and volunteer fire service. The plan addresses volunteer licensure plates, workers compensation reimbursements, roster limits, age caps, and sales tax exemptions, highlighting volunteer departments like Shafter with heavy reliance on volunteers amid funding strains. The piece also includes a Q&A on animal health topics unrelated to the fire legislation.
