Caldwell No 1 in Shafterfield Completes Seventh Well
General Petroleum announces the seventh well in the Shafterfield, Caldwell No 1 in Section 35 28-25 came in yesterday at 5 pm. The well shows high gas ratio with 1900 cubic feet per barrel of oil and depth to bottom of 11530 feet. Cementing at 11380 feet. Officials say production should equal other field wells though no capacity tests were made. The well lies near the eastern border of the production zone and the eastern limit remains undetermined.

Two Women Die In Traffic Accident Here
Two women died and two others injured in a collision at Shafter highway and Santa Fe way Monday at 9 45. The deceased are Mrs Leon Oak 24 who died at the scene and Mrs Ethel Clough 25 who died at Kern General hospital Bakersfield Tuesday morning. The injured include Mrs Eastridge in critical condition and B L Sare 17 lightly hurt. The victims were wives of sailors aboard the U S S Arizona en route from Washington to Long Beach.
