Ten Shafter High Boys Sentenced For Gas Thefts
Ten Shafter high school boys appeared before Justice of the Peace E. K. Grant on petty theft charges for stealing gasoline from farmers tractors and farm equipment around Shafter. Constable Blake Witcher said the youths drained fuel from many farm machines in the area. Because they are minors, each boy must be accompanied by a parent. Judge Grant warned he would send them to Ker County juvenile court if the parents and boys did not accept sentence. Each boy fined ten dollars, paid two dollars monthly.
