Scout Exposition Ticket Sale Starts in Shafter
The Kern County Scout Exposition kicks off with adult tickets at one dollar in Shafter. About 80 booths will host shows crafts and demos from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on May 4 at the Al bert S. Goode Auditorium and outdoor grounds. Proceeds fund a new mess hall at Camp Kern. Ken Gallup leads ticket sales. Dr. Lewis Allison chairs the countywide event. Incentives include neckerchiefs knives flashlights launch pad kits radios and a grand prize 22 caliber Remington rifle.

Red Fez Shrine Breakfast Set for April 7 in Bakersfield
Dr. Harry Lange announces the Kern County Shrine Club will hold the Red Fez breakfast on Sunday April 7 from 8 to 10 am at the Bakersfield Masonic Temple with Shrine service. Tickets are $1.25 at the Shrine office. Shriners families and guests may then attend any church. Spring activities include the Las Vegas Ceremonial April 26—28, Kern River Park golf May 17, Los Angeles Al Malaikah May 18, and Ladies Night June 22 at Veterans Hall Norris Road. The El Charaf Shrine Club in Wasco chaired by J. D. Camp will stage a Spring golf tournament and steak barbecue at Northern Golf Course on April 17 with dinner at 5 pm.
