Cars Collide On County Road Reported Near U S 50 and 135

Two cars collided at 4 15 p m Monday on a county road about three miles north of U S 50 and a mile west of Ind 135 according to state police at Seymour Trooper James Blevins. Teens Return After Detention Escape In Kalamazoo

Police say Bruce Murphy age 17 and Mike Salisbury age 14 fled a Kalamazoo detention home and were later returned. The stolen vehicle they drove was reported missing from the Kalamazoo area.

U S Planes Penetrate North Viet Nam Deeply Bombing Hanoi Border

American fighter bombers struck targets north of the Hanoi line in two raids near Son La and Van Nuoc Chien, totaling about 25 aircraft and 34 tons of bombs. Jackson County native dies in Bartholemew County crash

Ervin Hougland 29 of Seymour died when his pickup struck a utility pole east of Columbus Saturday night. The truck rolled, he was killed instantly, and a ladder remained wrapped around the fence post. Jerald Proffitt of Columbus R2 and his wife Rita Sue sustained injuries. Hougland leaves parents Merton and Gladys, brothers Wayne and Gary, a wife Mary Lou, a son Jeffrey and daughter Gina. Funeral 1:30 pm Wednesday at Barkes and Inlow. burial Garland Brook. He was born May 20 1936 in Jackson County and married Mary Lou Hall on Aug 22 1957.

Washington Man Arrested for Disorderly Conduct

Max A. Ramsey, 29, Washington, Ind., was arrested at 4 20 a m in the 200 block of Indianapolis avenue and jailed on a charge of disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty in Seymour city court and was fined five dollars with costs of twenty by Judge William Jones.
