Mrs. Margaret Burton local license branch manager announced blanks for gross income tax returns. Officials explained new gross income and track laws at Scottsburg meeting with state officials detailing exemptions, filing deadlines, and how to complete forms.
A. H. Ahlbrand of Fort Wayne Indiana has been re elected financial secretary of the Central District of the Missouri Synod. The district meeting began in Fort Wayne on Monday and will close at noon Friday. Delegates include ministers two laymen from each congregation and school teachers.
Seymour police investigated the theft of Maurice Brooks’ car, later destroyed by fire after a collision about four miles south of the city. The accident at a county crossroads near LeRoy Miller’s residence involved a Brooks car and an Alves car, both with occupants who fled. Brooks later reported his stolen vehicle.
Dale Denny fourteen son of Ralph and Mrs. Denny of Brownstown died at home at 3 AM after a six year illness. He was a long time resident of Brownstown and attended Brownstown Methodist Church and Sunday School. Survived by three sisters Jane Mary Jane Ida Jean and brother Charles Wilburn. Funeral at 10 AM Saturday from Brownstown Methodist Church with Rev. T J Hart. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Mrs. Mary F. Hildreth 70 formerly of Seymour died at home southwest of Uniontown at 9 PM Wednesday after a short illness with heart disease. Born October 8, 1862 in Scott county, she was daughter of John N. and Margaret Tucker and widow of a husband who died in 1919. Survived by five children Perry E and J J Hildreth both of Seymour, Mrs. Virgil Hall of Seymour, Charles A. Hildreth near Uniontown, Clyde Hildreth at home, one brother Warren Tucker of Oregon, one sister Mrs Nancy James of Atwater Ill, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. Funeral 2 PM Friday from Uniontown Baptist Church with Rev Walter Mosely, burial Uniontown cemetery.
H C Pierson of 420 Indianapolis avenue reports the death of his niece Mrs John Rider in West Palm Beach Florida on June 20 The funeral plans are pending with services to be held at the home of daughter Mrs Leila Rider Wiley in Scottsburg Burial will be at Crothersville cemetery Mrs Rider was born and raised in Crothersville She is survived by her son Albert Rider of Scottsburg and other relatives

Friends gathered in Franklin today for brief burial services for Rev T C Smith former city resident who died May 29 in Lakeland Florida. The funeral cortege arrived at 9 35 this morning and a cemetery service was led by Rev A A Cohn First Baptist Church. The widow and son Jay C Smith accompanied the body and Mrs Smith joined relatives for a short visit after returning from Lakeland. Mrs T C Smith departed for Plymouth to spend the summer with a niece.
Washington June 22 Associated Press reports Governor Morgenthau will reorganize federal agricultural credit agencies over the next three months. Four units including land banks and intermediate credit banks will form the Farm Credit Administration with a bank for cooperatives and a production credit corporation. New commissioners and a Washington agent will supervise the changes to reduce risk and lower interest rates for farm-backed securities.
The Baptist men's Bible Class hosts a barbecue supper at Camp Lutsus on White River Friday night at 6:30. Led by Talmage Cooper, the Trappers plan the event with Mrs. Rh. Haas preparing the meal. Guest Jay Smith of Lakeland Florida will participate as about one hundred men attend the final climax of the class campaign for a bigger group.
Louisville trucker Albert Freeman reported four armed men hijacked a load of 300 cases of beer near Seymour on a Louisville to Chillcothe run. Freeman was forced into a sedan, blindfolded, later freed near Indianapolis as the hijackers abandoned the truck ten miles northwest of there. Police and officials vowed cooperation in tracing the beer’s sale and noted several similar hijackings in the region.
