Flora McPeak of Crothersville died at 7 this morning at her nephew Hezzie Dart’s home two miles east of Paris Crossing after a five week stroke. Born January 19 1873 near Madison she lived in Crothersville area many years and belonged to the Crothersville Baptist Church. Survived by several sisters and brothers-in-law. husband James McPeak preceded her in death last December. Funeral from Crothersville Baptist Church Friday at 10 with Rev. Walter Moseley officiating followed by burial in Crothersville Cemetery.

Dozen Chickens Stolen From Medora Hatchery
Between fifty and sixty chickens were stolen Tuesday from the Wayside Hatchery near Medora. George Bailey, proprietor, reported the loss to Jackson County authorities. Sheriff Meredith K. Stewart is investigating but has found no clues to the robbers. The thieves removed a screen from the poultry house door to gain possession.

Louisville Man Held for Reckless Driving After Crothersville Crash
Harry Owens of Louisville arrested Thursday at Crothersville after a crash involving a car he drove and a vehicle carrying Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Howard of Detroit. Held in Jackson County jail at Brownstown on a $1000 bond for reckless driving after pleading guilty last Friday to a hit and run charge. the Howards were severely injured.

Publisher Cyrus Curtis Dies at 82 in Wyncote
Cyrus H. Curtis, famed publisher of the Saturday Evening Post and Ladies' Home Journal, died at his home in Wyncote after a heart ailment. He was nearly 83, had been ill since May, and his wife died five days after his heart attack aboard the yacht Lyndonia. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Mary Louis Curtis Bok.
