Final Rites for Father Conrad at St Ambrose Church
Funeral services for Rev. Father C. J. Conrad pastor of St. Ambrose Catholic Church will be held Friday morning. Clergy will recite the Office of the Dead at 3 30 o'clock followed by Solemn High Requiem. Burial will be at the Catholic cemetery. Friends may call at the parsonage after 8 o'clock tonight. Father Conrad, born in Ashville Tennessee on November 19, 1855, served in Indiana parishes before leading St. Ambrose from 1887. He battled heart trouble and was bedridden since March 29. He liquidated $7,000 debt, built the parsonage, remodeled the church, and supported community welfare and education. He was esteemed for firm yet fair views and his lasting influence extended beyond his parish.

Wadsworth's Grocery at Ewing and Fifth was entered by breaking a window. $3, grass seeds, and cigarettes stolen. Estel Kerrick at O'Brien and Tipton reported a window break at a filling station with cigarettes and candy taken after 11 p.m. Monday. Neighbors alerted police. loot recovered by a resident.
