Trapeze accident claims life of 9 year old Arthur Haaren

Charles Leonard, a 12 year old lad living west of town, was struck on the forehead by a hatchet falling from a tree while a companion chopped vines. The hatchet cut entirely through the skull, exposing the brain. He walked over a mile to where a passing team picked him up.
