Murder verdict ends eight month jury battle in Burns case
The jury found Charles Herbert Burns guilty of second degree murder at 6:00 a.m. after an all night deliberation in Blackhawk county. Judge Blair presided as Burns showed indifference to the verdict while prosecutors Mears and Lovejoy received acclaim for their handling of the case.
