Hardin County Supervisors Meet in Regular Eldora Session
The Hardin County Board of Supervisors met in Eldora on September 18 1909 with all members present. They reviewed the Soldiers Relief Commission annual report for year ending Sept 13 1909, reappointed A C Harris to the commission, and deferred final action on Drainage District No 7. They adopted a resolution for Drainage District No 9 assessing benefits, and set payable options with ten annual installments at 6 percent interest. A New York City parade on September 25 will feature Henry Hudson and Robert Fulton’s vessels the Half Moon and the Clermont. Woman's Club Opens Year With Stevenson Study
The Woman's Club met Tuesday evening at Mrs. C. E. Albrook's home to begin a year focused on Stevenson works. The gathering featured their annual magazine number Beau Tdeal edited by Mesdames Rathbone, Newcomer, and G. W. Ward with Miss Fenton, including editorial pieces, news, civic articles, poems, and reviews. Mrs. Rathbone read, Mrs. Newcomer presented an original poem, Mrs. Marsh offered an original story about the San Francisco earthquake, Mrs. Ward contributed a Continental Tale, and Mrs. Greefe discussed fashions. Reviews by Mrs. Ram say and Mrs. Robb completed the issue. a funny page and society notes appeared as well. The magazine was well received by all members.

Accident at Whitten injures Mrs Parrish and party
A Wednesday evening crash near Whitten involved Mr and Mrs Will Parrish Mr and Mrs Fred Long and others returning from Marshalltown. Parrish lost control as two vehicles met tearing wheels from the car the buggy was struck and the occupants were thrown out Mrs Parrish was unconscious and remained so Thursday while others sustained bruises.

Death of Mrs Robb in Eldora After Long Illness
Mrs Mary Jane Parker Robb died at her Eldora home on September 22 1909 aged sixty seven. Funeral held from her residence with Rev W E Stanley. Survived by husband Benjamin D Robb and two sons Ellis D and Earl P Robb. She long resided in the city and was noted for faith devotion and family kindness. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and had ties to Revolutionary ancestors.
