October Term Opens in Hardin District Court
The October term of the Hardin district court convened with Judge Whitaker arriving from Boone. Grand jury members were instructed and began work. Assignments for the week include cases against Wepbxnespay S Freedman and others, with reports promised in Saturday edition. Trial jurors reported for duty and will be dispatched quickly. Boody Adds Room to Home and Local Happenings
In Point Pleasant R W Boody recently added to his house. Potatoes yield poorly this year with widespread rain and good prospects ahead. B J Lynn visited Grundy Center with son William. Arch Palmer’s aunt died by hanging at his mother’s home Tuesday morning. Grandma Mitterer’s remains were laid to rest in the cemetery Tuesday afternoon. The oyster and ice cream supper at Herman Drier’s was a success, raising 82150. Robert R Roberts and wife of Warrensburg, Mo., stayed with Charles Boody’s family for several days. O S Boody returned home from Amomose North Dakota Saturday after about six months away.

George Lane Senior Dies After Long Illness
George Lane Senior, aged seventy five, died Monday night at his Fourth Ward home after a prolonged illness. An autopsy found an abdominal abscess and a blocked intestine, with four children among his mourners. Lane was a well known, respected longtime resident active in local affairs and business.

Funeral for local man to be held Thursday
The list of heirs includes Mrs Francis Hartman who kept house, Mrs Jno Miller near Eldora, Mrs Anna Golding of Crawford and Geo Lane Jr of this city. Funeral services will be at the late home Thursday at 2 pm conducted by Pastor Geo B Shoemaker of the M and church. Peace to his ashes.
