October Term Opens in Eldora Presided by Judge Whitaker
The Hardin District Court October term convenes in Eldora next Monday for three weeks with Judge J R Whitaker of Boone presiding. A grand jury meets October 23 and 17 State cases, 105 old cases, 36 new cases, 64 probate cases and six wills are on the docket. Included are many named State cases, appearances by local and foreign attorneys, and a notable slander case A W Mitterer vs F W Spencer Co among others. Seats for the McCutcheon entertainment go on sale October 19.

Former Eldora Boy Dies in Angleton Seventeen Years Abroad
Harlan Eugene Patterson born 1861 Eldora Iowa, died September 30 1903 in Angleton Texas after a life of education at the State University of Iowa and Vermont State University and service with J W Farwell Co of Chicago. He worked as a purchasing agent for a Texas Panhandle ranch before health declined. Survived by parents and two sisters, buried Hershner cemetery Angleton with a large local gathering.

Thomas B Miller of Providence Township near Lawn Hill was declared a fit subject for treatment after a monthlong decline linked to a lawsuit with Nestle estate. His parents cited derangement from last April, and the sheriff was ordered to transport him to the hospital for the insane at Independence. Deputy Parks proceeded with the transfer.
