Eldora city council met Monday with most members present. They extended a drain, discussed sewer laterals on W Jasper street, granted water permits, and reviewed boiler and treasurer reports. Pump house near completion at 355.58, new firehouse walk planned, and paving brick ordered. Bills total numerous vendor payments. treasurer shows balance about 12,623.89. New pump building nearly finished. commission to confer with county on courtyard curbing. J. A. Brown et al and other residents involved in petitions and street work.

Funeral of Mrs Horrigan a Notable Eldora Event
The funeral of Mrs. John Horrigan held Sunday at the Catholic church drew hundreds of friends and railroad workers from Joliet and nearby towns. Floral tributes came from Chicago Joliet and Marshalltown. Clergy from Joliet and Eldora led the service, with numerous pallbearers and prominent railroad officials in attendance. The interment was in the family cemetery near Secor.

Shipment of cattle and hogs from Secor to Chicago
On Tuesday Tom and Mike Megan shipped twenty cars of a full train load of cattle and hogs from the Secor side track to Chicago and other eastern markets. Superintendent Smith came from Eagle Grove to oversee the shipment. Accompanying the stock were W. B. Strother, A. E. Riley, Hal Hardin, Robert Todd, Chas Willcox, Thos and Mike Megan.
