A Waterloo notice reports an ante nuptial contract between John McNeil and Alice Tuttle filed with county records. The agreement preserves Mrs. Tuttle’s property for her children and states McNeil has no interest in her property, allowing sale or disposal as if marriage did not occur. Lon Lovejoy, a rural carrier on route five, found his buggy on fire two miles south of town near the W. L. Lesser place. The blaze grew large, destroying the buggy and part of that day’s mail while his clothing burned until he reached a nearby low mood with water to extinguish it.
Mrs J Wartchow and Mrs Lou Brown hosted a Kensington party for Rathbone women last Friday afternoon at Mrs Wartchow's home. The event featured social time and elegant refreshments, with guests deeming Brown and Wartchow royal entertainers.

Laura Hunter home from Iowa Falls with friend Lulu Mason. Rentals remain scarce as Hannah Starrs place and Marvin Sanders farm sit empty. People say high rent is not affordable this year.
The town reports late post for workers due to bad roads. Wesley Crossan and James Vigars travel to Chicago this week with stock. Mrs. Foster, mother of Janitor Foster, is seriously ill at home. Mrs. Frank Cobb is improving after a serious illness. A large crowd attended last evening’s M E church entertainment. Mrs. Ernest Limer has recovered enough to be seen with friends. Mrs. James Vigars and Mrs. Bebie Travis of Marshalltown spent Sunday with the Crossin family in Dayton Iowa.
