Adjutant General Newman reports 368 posts with 11,728 members for the Grand Army of the Republic department, a year drop of 145, with deaths 157 and 153 mustered in. The data covers year ending December 31 and aims for the Osceola encampment in May.
Miss Margaret Lander and James Arthur Martin were quietly married Saturday afternoon at 4 oclock by Justice S E Peek. Martin, Kimball Piano Company branch manager, will live with his bride at Mrs Coyle’s home before starting housekeeping in spring. Mrs Lander, formerly Miss Turner of Eldora, has a wide circle of friends in Eldora and Marshalltown where she works for Kimball.
Eldora voters elected two new school board members from the regular caucus ticket. H S Martin appeared on both ballots and won. H E Bateson defeated opposing ticket backers led by N R Van Avery. A record 364 votes were cast with Bateson ahead by nine. The Herald calls for continued parental cooperation to improve the schools.

Miss Lenora Potter of Spokane Washington married Mr J E Springer of Eldora in a 6 am Sunday ceremony at the home of Mr Springer's cousin Mrs John Presnall 510 West Linn Street. The couple planned a long distance union as Springer could not travel to Spokane. They will live on a farm seven miles southeast of town with Springer managing the property. the ceremony was performed by Rev W H Scott.
A list of Eldora Mutual Telephone Co patrons not listed in the new directory is published. The notice asks recipients to cut out and paste the names, with residences noted, and includes a sale line for a 58 acre farm and a two year old colt near Eldora by Jacon Schirmayer.
H B Kneedler longtime advertising manager for the Pacific Electric Railway Co Los Angeles has been appointed head of an industrial bureau formed by the company The bureau will supply settlers and business men with verified information pamphlets and circularslood readers in Boone and The Herald know him well and support his appointment The move reflects his fit for the new role and its public service aims

No new scarlet fever cases reported locally and quarantine on Henry Riley's home likely to be lifted soon. Conklin family still at Arch Mossman's awaiting Riley's eviction. School meeting produced a disputed director election with John Sheldon winning a small majority after multiple votes.
