The Agricultural Extension Department and Iowa State College co sponsor a contest for boys and girls under 18 in Ames Iowa. Participants receive a ten ear sample of Pure Bred Corn with planting and record instructions from Reid's Yellow Dent Silver King Red Dent Iowa Ideal varieties. Hardin County Iowa Board of Supervisors met in Eldora on February 23 1909 in adjourned January session. Members present included Jackson as recorded in the proceedings.

Owen Campbell formerly of Vinton and Eldora, shot himself at the Goss House in Blairstown Tuesday morning, dying instantly. His body was returned to Vinton. no note was left. He left Eldora two days earlier and had lived in Vinton about two decades. He leaves a brother and other relatives.
