Reports from Iowa Falls on July 4 discuss a sensational theory that J F Hardin Eldora treasurer of the State Sunday School association was the intended victim of a robbery in the city last week. Burglars allegedly confused Hardin with Rev Charles F Mayne due to likeness. A $1500 debt payoff was raised at a large convention meeting, and the raid may have aimed to seize treasury funds. Red Cedar posts promoted by Davis & Moser are advertised nearby.
An Ackley ball team member Van Poisal was struck in the eye by a fast throw during a Fourth of July game with Iowa Falls. Reports vary on whether the eye can be saved. The event also notes low stock prices at a local shop and a parade scene with twenty five yoke of oxen drawing a ditching machine. The Iowa Falls celebration drew a large crowd and many complained about scarce food.

The court finds the treasurer acted within authority and that Miller & Son possessed district funds, failing to account. The claim is allowed as a general unsecured indebtedness of 681.22 against the bankrupt firm, to be recorded by the trustee for dividend calculations.
