The Hardin County Fair in Eldora is set for September 6 to 8 with optimistic plans. Secretary H S Martin reports bands from Industrial School Iowa Falls and Bangor, league baseball games Marshalltown Waterloo and Hampton Union, a Ferris wheel, and strong stall and exhibit bookings signaling a record fair if weather cooperates. The Epworth League Conference in Eldora follows with sessions, devotions, and speakers through Wednesday and Thursday, including Methodist history, stewardship, evangelism methods, and mission discussions.
A Hardin county grand jury in October 1901 indicted Samuel Gamble for horse stealing. He evaded arrest until last Saturday when deputy Parks located him at Norton’s restaurant and bakery, placing him in the county jail. Gamble claims wartime service and says he bought the horse from M Garten of Marshalltown, though he had not paid. Lawyer A Rogers to defend. Dean's Ointment advertised for itching piles at 50 cents.

Daniel G. Meader of Eldora dies after long illness from a paralytic stroke. Born 1836 in Ellsworth Maine, he was a cabinet maker, then co owner of Eldora roller mills with S G Copp until Copp's death. Retired three years ago due to ill health. Survived by wife, three sons Geo W Tom C Harry and daughter Mrs L W Madden and brother Allen Meader. Funeral held at family home with G A R and Masonic rites. served in a Maine regiment, band member. Peace to his ashes.

Lily Pearl Cory Ibach, born August 4 1876 in Wenry County Indiana, died August 11 1905 at age 20. She married Buel Ibach at Gowrie Iowa on February 24 189? and had four children. Funeral at M E Church conducted by Rev Geo Shoemaker, with husband and children mourning alongside her mother and two brothers.
Myrtie F Hayden, youngest daughter of Walden Hayden and wife of A G Sanford, died in Colorado after a long illness of consumption. Born April 7, 1876, she married A G Sanford May 9, 1885 in Webster City. Funeral Sunday at Berlin Church with Rev W E Stanley and Rev Ballz officiating. burial in Berlin cemetery.
For the week ending Aug 14 1905 Des Moines Iowa reports the highest average temperature of the season with four to five degree excess. Strong sunshine and favorable threshing conditions followed by a late Saturday night rain alleviating drought fears. Corn shows rapid maturity oats and spring wheat yield improve. wild hay gathered. soil ready for plowing. late potatoes and pastures benefit. Overall a very good crop season promising above average staple output.

A rain blessed Fairview Sunday evening. L. D. Rash’s oats averaged by bushels per acre. Mr. Tanzy remains ill and confined to bed. L. W. Swaggvart family visited Wildora Saturday, O. B Reece family from Albion visited here over Sunday. Miss Louise Thompson departed for Washington to teach. Families of A. N. and L. W. Swaggart host relatives from Kansas and Nebraska. N. S. Swaggart threshed about 10 000 bushels for local farmers last week.
Mrs. J Adams continues under doctor care slowly improving. Mesdames Aliic Lepley and J Alexander of Union visited L A Miller. Mrs. W Wardman and son Floyd of Eldora stayed at Geo Vigars home. Geo Vigars had a runaway accident Friday with only a sprained ankle and bruises. Mr and Mrs E B Moore and children of Story county visited relatives and attended the Adams reunion and picnic. G F Cobb went to O'Brien county for a short visit and will be joined by wife and son returning from weeks with relatives.
Eupora Iowa board of supervisors met in adjourned session at 9 35 a m with all members present. Noble settled the rent balance for basement rooms used as a law and abstract office by paying 390 dollars. Afternoon session authorized a county road fund warrant for 2838 to Albrook Lundy for Gogerty claim settlement against Hardin county. Adjourned to Aug 9.
August 1905 county board met at Tidora and Jackson Clay townships to view a proposed drainage ditch. B F Bear et al presented a petition detailing land described by sections in Clay and Jackson townships to relieve overflow. A bond of 50000 was filed, engineer W W Tate appointed to survey. Several routine actions followed including tax refunds, ballot destruction, and a contract with Elidora Electric Light Co for courthouse heating.
