A Sunday afternoon ceremony at the Eldora Lutheran church confirmed a class of ten boys and nine girls in accordance with Lutheran usage. Rev. Gunther led the exercises as the church stood decorated with palms and carnations. The Eldora Iowa city council met Monday night with full membership. Mayor Tyler read his report noting waterworks improvements and urging metering, street and sewer progress, and fire protection. Hadley resigned. N S Carpenter filled the vacancy. Bills approved and board of health adjourned.

Augustus Stowe Dies at Eldora After Long Service
Augustus Stowe born April 17 1826 in Littleton N H married Sarah Blackstone January 9 1848 at Pownal Maine. He helped found Eldora First Baptist Church in 1868 served as deacon until death and leaves six surviving children including Frank I. in Thompson IA and several married daughters. Funeral held at home 2 PM Monday led by Rev Stanley.
