The opening of the social season horse show in Madison Square Garden drew society leaders to all boxes. Prizes total 22 thousand dollars.
A Sunday fire leveled the Sedalia Milling Co and Sedalia Planing Mills destroying buildings and equipment. Firefighters battled flames but the mills suffered complete loss with damage reported across nearby properties.
A Sunday morning blaze in Sedalia Missouri wiped out the Sedalia Milling Company plant and the adjacent Sedalia Planing Mills building. The loss is estimated at 55 thousand dollars for the milling site with 2.5 thousand for the planing mill and rail cars also damaged. An early cause is undetermined though likely spontaneous combustion. Firefighters fought the flames all day as spectators watched from nearby streets. The owner Morris Harter said he had about 350000 pounds of flour and 7000 bushels of wheat stored in the building.
W P Mason chief clerk of the Kansas House arrives in Topeka to assist probing reported padded pay rolls. He states the rolls are not padded and he can present in person a number of employees for verification.
Baron Sternberg the German ambassador to Washington sails for New York on the 24th. He arrived today from Saxony and denies reports that he was sick or operated on, stating these claims are untrue.
Weather prognosticator in Kansas City predicts a heavy snow storm extending to Texas. The cold wave covers Nebraska and New York with plunging temperatures. Today heaviest cold arrives with readings around 36 this afternoon after 40 this morning. the Weather Bureau warns of much colder conditions tonight and tomorrow.
Lincoln Neb Nov 16 Nebraska is in the grasp of a severe snow storm nearing blizzard force with the mercury at 2 degrees as freezing conditions grip the state.

Walter McFadden plans to marry Miss Lillie Carl at Central Church this evening in a simple ceremony.
The marriage of Walter McFadden and Lillie Cari will be held at Central Presbyterian Church at 8:30 p.m. with Rev. A. A. Boyd officiating. The church will be decorated in white and green, ushers named Solon Baker McCubbin and Carl, and Lil lie Brandt to play the wedding march. After the ceremony the couple will travel to Elgin by train with a reception at the bride’s home for about twenty guests and a sumptuous supper.
A morning blaze at the Holden avenue barns of the Consolidated Street Railway in Cleveland causes 300000 dollars in damage. Three firemen, Robert Duffy James Schweda and R Reed, are killed when walls collapse. Two others are seriously injured.
