Burned toddler tale from Boonville tragedy

Three year old Joe Busch Jr formerly of Sedalia was found in his Boonville home room burned severely likely from playing with matches. Doctors E A Russell and Potts fear for his life. Busch family are former Sedalians now running a Boonville butcher shop.

Katy Men Get A Raise On Right Of Way

Conductor Chas Ducker and Brakeman Newcomb are injured as train crews receive pay raises after a meeting of the adjustment committee of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers for the M K L and T road. Sedalia gains chairmanship with John Baur elected pay chairman to succeed P Curtis. Raises include engine pay hikes of twenty five, fifteen, and ten cents by engine class and passenger service. Firemen reportedly also granted a raise. Committee members include Curtis and Baur of Sedalia, Corrigan of Smithville Texas, Robinson of Greenville Texas, Corn and Price of Denison Texas, Fletcher of Parsons Kansas, and Maynard of New Franklin Missouri.

Reward Offered for Stolen Day Mare in Lee Bohanon Case

Notices from Con stable Robb on Saturday offer a liberal reward for the return of a day mare stolen from Lee Bohanon on November 1. Bohanon earlier found his horse missing after tying it in front of Whittinger's store on East Main Street. The bright bay mare is seven years old, fifteen hands high, with a black mane and tail, a wire cut on the left front foot and a white collar mark on the left side of the neck. Officers have pursued the case quietly to aid their investigation.

Sedalia Police Detain Suspected Kidnapper Hunter

Harvey Hunter a Negro in Sedalia was booked on carrying concealed weapons and confessed to abducting a white woman at Bunceton. Identified by Billy Drake as the suspect, he admitted eloping with the Parish woman and confessing to the crime before being sent to jail after a $25 fine. Detective work links him to travel across the state ending in Sedalia.

Derailment on the Katy injures two railroad workers

Conductor Charles Ducker and Brakeman Henry Newcomb were hurt in a Friday derailment between Hepler and Walnut Kansas on an extra northbound freight. A heavy dead engine caused a rail flaw. the caboose derailed and narrowly avoided tipping. Newcomb sustained a neck and back injury and remains hospitalized.
