Sedalia Court Dismisses City Case in Morning Session

City of Sedalia dismissed its case against Bart Jackson for resisting an officer. State vs Alice Perry et al. for petit larceny proceeded with Herman Witcher pleading guilty and receiving one day in county jail. Sam Fleming jailed three days for lewd conduct while Lee Peerman drew one day for vagrancy. Walter Ransdall charged with grand larceny was discharged for lack of grounds. In attendance were Otto Burke Bob Wilson Sim Wolf and Lon Samsel.

Nautilus Club Meets at Court House Rest Rooms

The Nautilus club held its meeting in the Rest Rooms at the court house yesterday afternoon with Mrs. J. W. Mc Clain as leader. Mrs. George W. McKeown gave a fine sketch of Harvard College and its founding, growth, and present standing. Mrs. J. M. Barnett read an interesting paper on Colonial Contributions to Literature.

Serious operation on Mrs Garrett amputates leg

Yesterday morning Mrs Sarah Garrett of 1410 East Fourth Street underwent a serious operation for senile gangrene in her left limb. Three physicians amputated the affected member at the knee. The patient was described as having a hopeful outlook after surgery.

Social celebration by Equity and Amity Lodges in Sedalia

Invitations issued for a joint social at Odd Fellows hall on Ohio street November 13 1902 celebrating twenty four years of the lodges unity. Grand officers will speak including W H Miller and Dr Shields with E L Edwards and N W Myers attending though Myers may be absent. The evening features speeches special music and a social supper.

Rhodes Sale Attracts Large Pettis County Crowd

The Rhodes farm ten miles south of the city hosted a major sale with Col. C. J. Hieronymus speaking to a large crowd. The Pleasant Valley church ladies served a dinner and reported cash receipts of 42 dollars and 50 cents. Household goods farm implements 150 cattle fifteen mules and several hogs were sold. B B. Brereton acted as clerk.

Bothwell Seeks Release From Treasury Audit Committee

Hon J H Bothwell returned from Jefferson City after urging Governor Dockery to relieve him from the committee to audit the treasury and auditor's departments. He cited personal matters occupying his time and expressed belief the Governor would excuse him. No successor named.

Ford Arrested at Cole Camp in Robbery Case

Marshal Hansam and A Kreisel arrested Ford at Cole Camp on information from Chief Ed Love. Love brought Ford back to town after Cole Camp. Larrimore and Evans, jailed for robbing Wilson Birdle of Benton county, implicated Ford and revealed his whereabouts leading to the arrest.
