Members met at the Elks club to arrange reception and entertainment for the state convention May 22 2 in Sedalia. Colors blue white and gold urged for business decorations as more than five hundred visitors are expected and the Sedalia lodge pledges full hospitality.
News from Sedalia reports the marriage of Mrs. Mattie Hoberecht to Henry Hoberecht in Denver Colorado. The couple, both former Sedalians, wed Tuesday night at 8 oclock at the groom s uncle s home in Denver with Rev Simpson officiating. They will live in Denver after April 1 where Hoberecht continues in the saloon business.
Mrs. Alice Burdick testified in Buffalo that she sought forgiveness after confessing sins to her husband Burdick. She described meetings with Pennell and a scheme involving life insurance and a $25,000 bond, with expenses paid by Pennell as divorce talks continued.
Two children of Orlen Bigelow, aged five and two, were burned to death in their Kansas City home while the father was at work and the mother visiting. The blaze likely started when the children played with matches in the bedroom. The mother is prostrated from shock.
