Report from Sedalia notes Robert Ellis supports belief Charlies Price near Beaman has a serious contagious illness. The Prices, Kellerman’s Bridge residents, fear exposure as magistrate delays. A. T. Forbes from Beaman suspects measles, while Ellis lacks time to nurse.
Two dogs drew crowds in the streets today. A St Bernard owned by James Richards, a Missouri Pacific brakeman, amused onlookers by riding in a toy police wagon pulled by his son Lloyd. A terrier owned by Bob McCasslin balances on a horse’s back, delighting spectators with skilled circus feats while the horse remains unfazed.
Attorneys Yeater and Bothwell traveled to Jefferson City to argue a demurrer in the case of the School District of Sedalia versus the Receiver of the First National Bank to recover $15,000 in Jimmie Thompson bonds.
Philip Dieter aged 12 was shot in the leg by his brother with a gun thought unloaded and died the next evening. The notes also report political nominations in Lamonte, labor federation notices, and street cleaning efforts in Sedalia.

Lieut. Dean reports 65 men enlisted by 1 PM with expectations of 100 by week end. Recruits departed for Manila Porto Rico Fort Leavenworth and Fort Wingate. several more named for Sedalia area departures. Discharge notes distinguish between dishonorable and honorable discharges affecting franchise rights. Office likely to close Friday with possible move to Springfield next week.
