Death of Iowa chief Tohee after garden hoe assault
Daniel Tohee, about 40, chief of the Iowa Indians, died at his home seven miles southwest of Ripley in Payne county from wounds inflicted by Robert Robindeaux, another Iowa. Robindeaux is under arrest for indirectly causing the chieftain’s death after an altercation last week. The tribe, numbering under 100, has internal dispute over crop management and leadership as the Iowa conclave looms.
