An advertisement extols a White Sale built on long experience and careful prep. It promises low prices on 10c drawers and 25c gowns and highlights medium priced bands at 75c and 98c with items like Cambric skirts, umbrella flounces, Torchon lace, lawn trimmings, and Poiret lace.
Floods roar through the region as rising waters engulf cities and villages along the Kaw. Swift currents sweep through yards washed from their beds, causing destruction and threatening lives.

At 12 o clock today Mayor J L Babcock announced a Relief Committee message from Kansas City requesting a carload of hams and bacon for Sedalia flood sufferers. A. R. Meyer chairs the relief drive. Mayor Babcock liaised with M M Stevenson of Stevenson Packing to provide a carload of meat and wired the committee to proceed at once.
The first Missouri river flood crest arrived in St Louis this morning and pushed the river above the danger line. Officials warn the World’s Fair grounds face flooding while East St Louis is in grave danger.
Missouri Governor Dockery issued a proclamation urging state aid for Kansas City relief. He personally led a 150 dollar collection in the state house and directed militia officers to Kansas City to assist civilians.
