The Frisco and Memphis railroads plan a formal consolidation with Clinton as the estranged branch. September 1 is the adoption date, leaving Sedalia to rally to keep the new Colorado road from turning toward Clinton.
Senator J M Rollins of St Louis P H Morrissey of Cleveland and C C Hardy of De Soto presented a petition to Governor Dockery requesting commutation of William Wade’s ten year sentence for a fatal shooting in St Louis two years ago. The petition is signed by 49000 trainmen.
Major Marvin and the surveying corps report locating survey completed to Clinton as the Gasconade Construction company wins the Miller Morgan counties grading contract. Work starts within 30 days with large crews across Eastern Mar ne and Osage counties shaping the roadbed to the Gasconade river crossing. The Gasconade bridge is designed as a seven foot high two span steel cantilever with a river bottom trestle on the east and a bluff approach on the west, secured by a 400 yard tunnel.

Charles A. Dunford of Jefferson City and Miss Jeanette Gauze of Sedalia were married Monday evening at the home of Rev. Fr. Neiber g. A small party attended and supper was served by Miss Bessie Brinton. The couple left for Jefferson City afterward. Dunford works for the American Telegraph and Telephone company. Gauze’s parents live in Jacksonville, Florida, and she has resided in Sedalia for two years. Sentinel extends congratulations.
Dave Suler left last night for Aurora Illinois after receiving a telegram announcing his father Henry Suler had died. The message stated the death with no further details provided.
R B Haughton commander in chief of the United Sons of Confederate Veterans seeks a Sedalia helper to organize a local branch and requests named young men to assist, with correspondence to 1117 Clark avenue St. Louis.
