Officer Sam Cameron spots a blaze at Bryant-Tewmey Dry Goods on Fifth and Ohio. Fire crews extinguish center stock damaged by fire, water and smoke from a radiator incident. Stock valued at 12,000 dollars insured. building owned by Dr Ferguson. reopens planned Monday if settled. Also notes upcoming performances at Wood's Opera House and Rice Barton burlesque show with a large cast.
In Nevada Missouri on February 8 Lon Burns allegedly cut his wife Nancy Burns throat with a pocketknife about 6 50 pm. The injured woman died minutes later after collapsing in the landlady's room. Burns was captured an hour later and jailed. Later reports identify the suspect as Pat Brady not Burns 31 year old Kentucky native. The couple had recently moved from Kansas City and Rich Hill where her parents lived. The father says threats preceded the tragedy and Brady denies the charges.

Arrest occurred on an M K T train at Sedalia by Policeman Boullt. after release he faces further charges in Sedalia.

Friends of Mr Taylor of Smithton report his wife ran away with the Baron Bum Bum. She reportedly traveled for a visit in Nebraska but joined the baron in South Missouri. En route to Butler she learned of his arrest.
