Mrs Emma Dailey dies under mysterious circumstances linked to a contrivance found in an Italian trunk. Julius Marsandille is arrested and will face manslaughter charges. A similar Whatcom County case is noted as a parallel incident.
Mrs. Dailey, owner of the lodging house at 529% yesterday, shot to death by a contrived trap set in a dresser trunk. Authorities tracked the Italian suspect from Italian saloons to a pawn shop, then to a Columbus saloon headquarters. The trap used a wooden holster in the trunk and a fish cord connected to a trigger. Coroner will not hold an inquest. Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Miller plans a manslaughter charge against Marsaudille, who arrived from San Francisco three weeks ago and says he built the device a week ago. Mrs. Dailey, 61, and her husband had run the house for about a month. she is survived by three sons. Postmortem exam set for 5 PM.
