Aberdeen Washington, Oct 3 bulletin reports a major fire in the Commercial block destroying seven stores and the post office. Flames swept through the frame and galvanized iron building from dawn, aided by a strong westerly wind. no injuries, but substantial merchandise loss from hurried removal.
Gladys Grey lies near death at Providence hospital after a jealousy linked event at the Cehl hotel Monday night. Doctors report her condition deteriorating with no vitality to withstand the illness. The body of her would be killer is at Henney-Watson morgue. J Arbuckle of Hager Oklahoma directs burial locally.
Three assailants attacked Prince Galitzen in Tiflis while he rode with his wife. They struck at his head and tried to drag him from the carriage. The prince escaped with multiple minor wounds as a guard killed one assailant and mortally wounded another. a third was seriously wounded.
The forthcoming marriage unites Mine Rowe Sartoris, daughter of Wellid Grant Sartoris and granddaughter of General A. Grant, with Lieutenant John Wright U.S. Army. Wright, son of General Marcus J. Wright, served in the Fifth Infantry and volunteered in the Spanish War, later becoming a commissioned officer in the Philippines.
W. Bare a private detective was arrested in Justice George's court on charges of assault and battery. Charles Busse claims Barr knocked him to the floor at the Seattle Hotel Sunday night amid ongoing divorce court tensions with his wife. Barr denies the assault, saying he sought to prevent further trouble after a quarrel between Mr and Mrs Russell.
Charles Mereth a Wayside Mission patient died by his own action last night by drowning in the bay after leaving his ship. He had been in the city for several days, suffered delirium tremens from continual drinking and was hospitalized at the Mayside Mission hospital before jumping overboard. His body was recovered two hours later and taken to the morgue. He had once been a jeweler and long struggled with liquor.
Winter claimed its first victim today in New York as Joan Welkie, exhausted and cold, died at Bellewur Hospital.

Special to The Star reports James Stewart Sr and Alfred Morgan went hunting near Cumberland when a gun misfired during a grouse shoot.
