A Baltimore and Ohio collision east of Parkersburg, West Virginia, killed engineer Frank Morgan and fireman Cablel with brakeman Proudfoot badly injured. Two heavy freights collided wrecking engines and track, stopping all traffic for the day.
A lightkeeper at CarfTanah reports the Wempe Brothers schooner broke in two and sank in deep water near Bonilla Point. The wreckage was seen this morning after heavy seas yesterday. Escape from the watery grave would have been unlikely.
