Washington October 21 big Standard Oil stock dividends are labeled non taxable by Secretary Mellon who cites Supreme Court precedent. He says recipients do not incur tax unless they cash in by selling the new stock and report income.
A group of white defendants plotted with Orientals to evade the anti alien land law in a string of civil cases. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Ewing D Colvin plans to file criminal informations. Convictions carry one year in prison and a $1000 fine or both. Colvin says whites aiding evasion are more iniquitous than Japanese conspirators.
