Driver Hart Charles E. Peterson of 4310 Avenue tried to avoid a collision Thursday night at Wil ingford Avenue and Ewing Street when brakes failed. His car plunged 50 feet over an embankment, somersaulted, and landed wrecked. A passing motorist rescued Peterson, who suffered a broken nose and cuts and bruises.
