Activity builds as Railway Trainmen seek a wage increase and consult with Railway Conductors regarding a possible strike. Maj. Bingham, United States quartermaster in Seattle, invites bids for 1200 tons of oats and 1200 tons of other goods for shipment to Manila. Proposals are due November 14.
An Interurban railway crossing near Tacoma was blocked after a sheep herding incident involving a herd driven from Seattle. One sheep was killed and others were injured when a curve caused a derailment delaying service by about two hours. Hogs and sheep are noted as highly dangerous to trains due to bodies slipping under wheels.
In a city Armory match Rafe Turner, a black heavyweight, dominated Perry Queenan from the start. Turner landed a series of uppercuts and body blows, forcing Queenan to fall in round three and again in later rounds as the crowd pressed for his fall. The match drew a large, rowdy crowd with police and deputies at the door and tensions over women spectators. Turner continued to control the action through eighth round, delivering decisive punches as Queenan struggled to rise.
The state department rejects non American consul reports from Venezuela. Officials say they trust only direct American channels for war news, losing faith in other information sources amid insurgent actions and ongoing conflict.

The East Queen Anne Movement Club approved a proposal for a new street linking Seventh Avenue North and R Streets to Newton Street. The plan would create a seven percent thoroughfare and a committee was formed to present the resolutions to the city council. The club also urged no private streetcar franchise be granted on the route.
At a meeting in Longshoremen's hall a Beattie branch of the Fishermen's Protective Union of the Pacific Coast and Alaska was organized with eight charter members. Organizer I. N. Hylen says most men are away fishing, so enrollment will grow gradually and expand to the sound and Alaska this winter. The union's growth could affect next season's fish industry as higher wages are anticipated.
Frasikin Kne, a late Democratic governor candidate, said he received telegraphs from every county, labor unions, and Democrats offering to subscribe money to contest Pardee's election. The total pledged amounts to about $15,000. Lane states he will contest.
