Telegrams suggested he married and would bring her to California, though efforts to reach him were unsuccessful as he was believed to be in Chicago during a New York engagement.

Frank Truckle of Brandt Ford near Hamilton shot and killed his wife Lena 24 at noon. Police pursued him by car for blocks and cornered him, after which Truckle shot himself in the chest. He may recover.

May 18 San Diego. A grand jury returned 33 indictments against alleged I W W members after a riot that injured Policeman Stevens and Hendon and killed an I W W. Seventeen men are jailed on charges of assault with intent to kill. sixteen are being sought by police and vigilantes. Names of those under arrest include Oliver Weaver, Robt. Kennedy, Lee R. McCoy, C. R. Neely, Jas. Johnson, Jos. Sebastian, Woodford Hubbard, H. Barr, Walt Brunke, Robt. G. Noble, Wm. Hughes, Kelley E. Healey, Thos. BE. Moore, Frank Monaco, A. R. White, H. C. Adams, and C. W. Hedrick.
