Los Angeles May 17 Internal Revenue official Guy Burnham seeks a $2,500 letter of credit stolen last night from his home. Detectives pursue burglars who entered Burnham’s house as he and his wife said goodbye to his mother-in-law. Burnham’s European trip set for today may be postponed if the letter is not recovered.
County commissioners reversed the superintendent’s plan and created a new district at Duwamish. Residents had pressed for relief from dangerous crossings where older students must traverse a bridge over the Duwamish River with an active third rail nearby.
