Love and Revolt Shadow a Polish Estate Visit

At the Rojanka estate in spring 1850 Jos Mogoursky visits elder Yachevsky, a Polish patriot, hoping to propose to Vanda while Albina secretly falls for him. Albina realizes Mogoursky loves her, not Vanda, and refrains from proposing, leaving Albina torn between love and family duty as tensions of Poland’s fate echo in their lives.
