Seattle faces a low registration pace with only 71 000 voters qualified to date while more than 100 000 are registered citywide. Officials warn of a civic crisis and urge residents to register before March 28, with hours 8 30 to 5 daily except Sundays.

Spokane March 17 Two persons were killed and three injured when Butte local No 20 crashed head on into Northern Pacific train No 1 westbound the North Coast Limited on a mountain grade east of Butte Mont The fireman on the local and an unidentified hobo were killed. no passengers were hurt. The North Coast Limited had been wrecked weeks earlier near Bellingham.
Telegrams of congratulations poured in for Augustus B. Hamer a treasury agent here after a jury freed him yesterday on charges of violating anti-narcotic laws in alleged illicit dealings with Mae Butchart The agent expressed gratitude and said he trusted a fair jury would exonerate him.
