The Seattle Star reports the Olympia legislature will not appropriate funds for a state gift to the cruiser Washington, labeling lawmakers weak toward corporations. The Star plans to mobilize chambers of commerce to raise funds publicly for a suitable souvenir delivery to the ship.

A burglar cracked a window at Dr. Wooding of Georgetown last Sunday night, cut his hand on broken glass, and escaped with a small amount of jewelry. Seattle detectives pursue a man with a bound hand attempting to dispose of jewelry.
Mrs Mary Smart an longtime city resident died yesterday afternoon at 8 o clock after a short illness. She leaves a husband Robert Smart two sons and a daughter J W Smart treasurer and secretary of the Hotel Cecil company Robert Smart Jr an assayer for the Canadian government at White Horse Yukon Territory and Mrs Robert Wood of Renton is the daughter The deceased would soon have celebrated the fiftieth wedding anniversary with Robert Smart.
