Berlin dispatch reports Russia resolves to defy Europe by moving the Black Sea fleet via the Dardanelles to join Oriental forces. The move would violate the Berlin treaty and risk embroiling neutral nations in the war.
Vladivostok endured a fifty five minute bombardment yesterday afternoon by a fleet of five Japanese battleships and two cruisers. The attack near Askold island caused limited damage as most shells failed to explode and Russian batteries held fire.
Japanese forces occupy Hwangju landing two boats and the transport steamer Hoykee arrive with a large supply of stores. Cossacks closely monitor the movements of the Japanese in the region.
London dispatch notes only Russian reports about the Vladivostok bombardment. No confirmation on whether the Russian squadron remains there. Tokyo reports sighted the squadron off Geneon Korea on Thursday, but this is unconfirmed.

In St Jobrceph Missouri Mark Dunn condemned for the murder of Alfred Fenton attempted to escape by seizing a pistol and holding the guard at gunpoint during a death watch in his cell. The escape attempt occurred around 6:30 PM as guards reported the incident.
This morning the sheriff entered through the revolving door, Dana collapsed and surrendered a Winchester rifle, and a pursuit began with a pomme in pursuit.
