German Press Abuses Foch as Offensives Near
The Berlin and German press launch a violent campaign against Marshal Foch on the eve of major Allied offensives. Berlin Tageblatt calls Foch not an intellectual giant and claims he heads a coalition army while English and American forces are in rivalry. Merlin Lokal Anzeiger accuses French and British actions of bloodletting tied to Foch's supposed failures, with Clemenceau backing him but risking blame if exhausted.
