Washington Aug 34. A sub committee of the Anti-Trust league will meet tonight to prepare a petition asking the official to prosecute Steel trust officials for violations of the Sherman anti trust law after Knox refused to provide information the week prior.
Across Pittsburgh and Philadelphia reports circulated that Samuel Gompers and others would present a concession plan to Morgan to end the steel strike. Shaffer said fewer workers were at work than last week while other plants reported varying staffing. Rumors tied Charlies Schwab to Bethlehem Steel control and a possible resignation, amid questions about his compensation and ties to J P Morgan.
King Alfonso of Spain plans a trip to Beima France to observe French naval maneuvers with President Loubet and the czar and possibly visit Kaiser Wilhelm. General Weyler may accompany the boy king on this noted royal tour.

Inspector Brown dumped 109 pears from the Walla Walla shipment into the bay after condemning the fruit for poisonous material. He had it analyzed and suspected foul work after tasting, noting the pears were soaked green and possibly sprayed on the trees before harvest.
Minnie Maycock sues her husband Rees Heycock in the superior court seeking 2500 damages for assault and battery. She alleges the July 17 1991 attack left her sore and lame while they were living apart after a period of separation.

Fremont resident D J Ratherland suffers leg injuries from a lumber load accident at Thomas Street and Thirteenth Avenue. Aboard the steamer Walla Walla coal passer Philip J Cullen, demented on arrival, was discharged by Judge Emory and is believed to have recovered.
New York August 14 The Times reports that Thomas Lipton denies the Toledo story claiming he was sold out during the cup race of 189% asserting no such deal occurred and the team remains under Lipton's control.
In Fort Wayne on Aug 14 a gas explosion at Edward Lowenthal's residence badly burns Lowenthal and fatally wounds his wife who was blown through a door. Eli Strayer is buried at the yard door, Chearge Priest reports his daughter KR Creighton missing after two days absence, seen with Ralph Elmer, police investigating.

Mrs Mary Pratt aged 63 died yesterday afternoon at Seattle General Hospital. Services will be held from the parlors of Butterworth and Sons on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The hearing for W. J. Adama, the Green Lake minister accused in a rooming fire, resumed. Adama attempted an alibi claiming he went to an employment bureau, then to Green Lake to collect a $10 debt from McKinney. He testified only to rapping at the McKinney door and leaving.
Columbia City authorities move to enjoin Sunset Telephone Company from erecting poles until a proper franchise is secured. After a prior notice, workmen continued pole construction. The marshal was directed to notify Sunset workers to stop or injunctions will follow.
